Posted 8/17/26 – Part-Time Circulation Clerk:
Join the team at Freeport Community Library. The Town of Freeport is hiring a part-time Circulation Clerk to serve patrons at the circulation and youth services desks, support daily library operations, and help create a welcoming experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
This is a customer-facing role that requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay friendly and organized in a lively, fast-paced setting.
What You’ll Do:
· Serve patrons in person and by phone at the main circulation desk and the youth services desk
· Answer reference questions and assist patrons with their needs
· Check materials in and out and process holds
· Process incoming and outgoing interlibrary loans
· Perform opening and closing procedures
· Shelve materials accurately
What We’re Looking For:
· Experience working with the public and exceptional customer service skills
· A friendly, helpful demeanor and the ability to handle detailed work amid frequent interruptions
· Comfort and confidence using library technology
· The ability to multitask and stay composed in an energetic, lively environment
· Prior library experience is a plus
Part-time, 19 hours/week, $20.23/hr
The current schedule includes weekday, evening, and seasonal Saturday hours.
