FRIENDS OF FREEPORT COMMUNITY LIBRARY
Friends of the Freeport Community Library: Working to support & promote the Library and its programs
Friends of the Freeport Community Library (FFCL) formed in 2011 as a non-profit organization committed to advocating for the Library, supporting patron interests and Library services, participating in Library events, and fund-raising for selected programs and projects.
The annual book sale will be held September 21-24, 2023 from 10AM-5PM at the Freeport Community Library. There will be a preview night September 20 from 4-8pm ($20 entry). Credit cards are welcome. Donations will be accepted September 5-19. Please drop off quality books, CDs, audio books, & DVDs inside the meeting room entrance. Proceeds help support programming and museum passes at your library!
FFCL is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) organization and we welcome your (tax deductible) donations (funds -or- books for the annual book sale) and participation as we work together to support the Freeport Community Library!

VOLUNTEER
The Freeport Community Library depends on a dedicated group of community volunteers for many day-to-day tasks. For both new and longtime residents of Freeport, being a volunteer both supports our library and provides an opportunity to interact with the hundreds of people who visit each day. Volunteers are trained for their specific tasks of interest by the library staff.
Here are some of the ways you can assist as a volunteer:
- Shelving books, DVDs, audiobooks, and more
- Monitoring books on the shelves, keeping them in alphabetical or numerical order
- Assisting the Friends of Freeport Community Library with their annual book sale
For more information, please email fcl@freeportmaine.com or fill out a volunteer application at the Library.
