A flier for FCAN's Being the Change Earth Day Book Club

A Book for Earth Day: A Discussion of Being the Change
Tuesday, April 26, 7:00-8:30PM
Jointly hosted by Freeport Climate Action Now (FCAN) and the Freeport Sustainability Advisory Board (FSAB)
In-person event in Freeport Community Library’s Meeting Room

FreeportCAN and FSAB believe, like astrophysicist-turned-climate-scientist Peter Kalmus, that the people in Freeport can start their own revolution and be the change that life on this planet is calling for. Join them for an in-person book club and discussion of Kalmus’ Being the Change: Live Well and Spark a Climate Revolution.

Read the whole book, a few chapters, or just come to discuss living during climate change with neighbors. Share concerns and discover the exciting local actions one can take with other Freeporters at this free and open community event.

Our Community Partners

Our library is a safe, welcoming, community space connecting people to information, ideas, and each other to promote curiosity, discovery, and informed citizenship. To that end, FCL seeks to partner with and uplift other local community organizations with similar missions. For community partners, FCL will promote events via social media, provide free meeting rooms space for one-off events, and occasionally highlight an upcoming program with supplement lists of print and audiovisual materials curated by library staff. Parties seeking community partner status should contact Library Director Courtney Sparks at csparks@freeportmaine.com.
