Spice Club was a monthly take-and-make “craft” for adults at FCL that lasted several years. Plastic-free Spice Club kits included pre-portioned spices, regional and historical background information, and at least two suggested recipes.
Spice Club strategic goals were ambitious. We tried to:
- encourage positive health-based outcomes through home cooking
- foster curiosity and appreciation of global cuisines, as well as the peoples who create (and reinvent!) them
- balance accessibility and affordability with authenticity
- provide additional avenues for enrichment via suggested reading lists and local restaurants
